A few reminders

1. Those who are interested in taking the ACET, La Salle, and UST applications, put your payments in a sealed envelope and submit to the class president or the class treasurer. (Deadline of ACET payments is on TUESDAY). -- Sabi sakin ng parents ibigay raw sa TUESDAY. :)) We will forward your payments to Ate Jeng.

2. PTA and Pcori payments (IDK what these are for) should also be put in sealed envelopes.

3. NO CLASSES ON MONDAY \:D/

Refer to the previous posts for guidelines in making the yearbook requirements.

I suggest you do the write-ups over the weekend while our STR proposals are still being checked. You'll be thrice as busy as you are now next time. And there won't be any long weekends any time soon. :D

Please take note that the deadline for the application payments (P500) is on Wednesday.

• Conceptual Quiz about Electric Field (and Electric Charge????)
• Answer in 1 whole sheet of paper (the questions that we copied last meeting) [due tomorrow?]: Try to answer this nalang daw, it will help you (sabi ni Sir Darwin)
• 2. What is the e-field at a distance of 3.00 m from a negative charge of -8.00 nC?
• 3. Find the net e-field at point A due to the -3.00 pC and +6.00 pC charges arranged as shown below:

Math

• HW2
• Draw the parabola with equation x² - 2x + 6y - 11 = 0. Identify the vertex, focus, endpoints of LR, axis and directrix.
• Write the equation(s) of the parabola(s) with the following properties:
• Vertex on (3,6), axis is horizontal, focal distance is 5.
• Vertex on (4,-2), axis is perpendicular to the x-axis, length of LR is 12.
• The lines x + y = 1 and x - 2y = 7 contain the focus. The directrix is the line y = 1.
• End points of the LR are (4,10) and (4,0).

WebDev

• Essay about your critique/evaluation of the Pisay website using the critera: Content, Code, Usability & Design.
• Max of 250 words. Save in a .txt file. Submission before class starts @ submissions folder.

HWs for Wednesday:

• Bring your lab gowns tomorrow! (Kung mali rinig ko sorry, pero better be sure diba \:D/).
• Econ HW due tomorrow! Deadliest deadline lol
• Try to study this if you have time :).

HWs for Thursday:

• Electroscopes are due on Thursday. They should work.

• Electroscope-testing on Friday! \:D/Bring the materials you'll test on the electroscope :D
• Memorize THESE and the CO's names for CAT. Sabi ni Lance kelangan raw ng duct tape at gunting per platoon para 'pag nabutas yung pants, may ipangtatapal =)). IDK. Bring your ticklers and pens. Number the pages from 1-100 (encircled).

Batch Congress & Shirt

Batch Congress will be held on JULY 1.

Please submit shirt designs for the Batch Shirt! The color of the shirt itself must be blue. This will be our last batch shirt so if you want it to awesome, submit a design! ;) Please don't make it too colorful though. 8D
Deadline for submissions is on JUNE 24, which is next week!

Literature Genres!

1. Prose -  a literary medium distinguished from poetry by its greater irregularity and variety of rhythm, its closer correspondence to the patterns of everyday speech, and its more detailed and factual definition of idea, object, or situation.
2. Poetry - metrical writing that formulates a concentrated imaginative awareness of experience in language chosen and arranged to create a specific emotional response through its meaning, sound, and rhythm
3. Fiction - literature that was created from something imaginary or from the fabrication of the mind
4. Non-Fiction - literature that was created from facts
5. Essay - an analytic or interpretative literary composition usually dealing with its subject from a limited or personal point of view
6. Biography - a usually written history of a person's life
7. Autobiography - the biography of a person narrated by himself or herself
8. Fable -  a legendary story of supernatural happenings, or a narration intended to enforce a useful truth (ex: one in which animals speak and act like human beings)
9. Legend - a story coming down from the past, or one popularly regarded as historical although not verifiable
10. Tragedy -  a serious drama typically describing a conflict between the protagonist and a superior force (as destiny) and having a sorrowful or disastrous conclusion that elicits pity or terror
11. Comedy - the genre of dramatic literature dealing with the comic or with the serious in a light or satirical manner
12. Farce -  a light dramatic composition of satirical or humorous cast in which great latitude is allowed as to probability of happenings and naturalness of characters
13. Masque - a short allegorical dramatic performance popular as court entertainment in 16th and 17th century Europe, performed by masked actors often themselves members of the court, and consisting of dumb show combined with music, dancing, and sometimes poetry culminating in a ceremonial dance participated in by the spectators
14. Soliloquy -  a poem, a discourse, or an utterance of a dramatic character that has the form of a monologue or gives the illusion of being a series of unspoken reflections
15. Narrative Poetry - poetry that has a plot
16. Metrical Tale - poetry dealing with the emotions or phase of life and the story is told in a simple, starightforeard and realistic manner
17. ballad -  a narrative composition in verse of strongly marked rhythm suited to simple singing or dancing
18. song -  a short musical composition made up of mutually dependent words and music which together produce a unique aesthetic response
19. ode -  a lyric poem usually marked by particular exaltation of feeling and style and typically marked by varying length of line and by complexity of stanza forms
20. lyric - a poem characterized by or expressive of direct usually intense personal emotion
21. elegy - a pensive or reflective poem typically highly subjective and usually sorrowful, nostalgic, or melancholy
22. sonnet - a fixed verse form of Italian origin consisting of 14 lines that are typically 5-foot iambics rhyming according to a prescribed scheme
23. Shakespearean Sonnet - a sonnet consisting of three quatrains and a couplet with a rhyme scheme of abab cdcd efef gg
24. Petrarchan Sonnet -  a sonnet consisting of an octave rhyming abba abba and a sestet rhyming in any of various patterns (as cde cde or cdc dcd)
25. Spenserian Sonnet -  a sonnet in which the lines are grouped into three interlocked quatrains and a couplet and the rhyme scheme is abab, bcbc, cdcd, ee
26. Dramatic Monologue -  a literary work (as a poem) in which the character of a protagonist is vividly revealed in a monologue addressed to another person or a group of persons usually with interplay of speaker and audience

1. MAKE-UP CLASSES for tomorrow! - Math and STR (STR is next week pa). =)) Yun lang. Baliktad! STR make-up is tomorrow: 12:50-1:40 pm. :). Math make-up is next Tuesday, 12:50 - 1:40 pm. :)

2. CHEM: Yung shoebox with the stuff plus yung assignment tungkol sa rate law shiz. :D (lahat due bukas...)

3. MATH: Not a HW, but give the equation of the parabola, coordinates of the vertex, focus, and endpoints of the latus rectum. Also, find the equation of the directrix and the axis of symmetry.

• Um, try niyo lang i-solve kasi magkaka-recitation tungkol dito.

4. PHYSICS: Yung electroscope due sa Thursday.

5. ECON: ECON-SAC moved to Wednesday. (Issa, bakit ka pa kasi nag-absent? :(( )

6. STR: Think of at least 3 topics that piques your interest. Also, dapat cheap (unless mayaman kayo), merong scientific basis, at feasible.

7. Physics: Bring your books, 1 whole pad, and notebooks. Sir might check them tomorrow :) Again. lol.

8. English: Know the terms given to us kanina. Baka magparecitation ata si Ma'am? idk ahaha~.
